  13. You obviously never found out the power of the start-button search in Windows 7.

  14. I know, but why did the idiots take it out?

  15. Thanks for this video, it's valuable. When people buy a car (an old fashoined productivity tool) they don't expect to take ages to learn their way around it. Windows 8 was a monster cock-up by MS on this front. Charms (better called turds) are fine on a phone, but on a screen with a keyboard and mouse that drive things, FORGET IT! To lose the start-button search facility that Windows 7 also flies in the face of progress.

  16. I haven't yet found anyone who can turn off a W8 laptop without first being shown how
HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA

  17. ERROR IN PREV COMMENT< IT SHOULD READ
The facility should have been seen as the beginnings of an associative file-store, allowing searches of everything – files, mails, contact cards etc. but instead the geeks at MS could NOT realise what people want from a HIGH POWER PRODUCTIVITY AID like a PC. Watch out MS, your territory is sloughing away!!!

  19. To lose the start-button search facility that Windows 7 also flies in the face of progress. On W7 it's the single most powerful tool in the operating system – I can find most things or find that they're not on my machine very quickly. That facility should have been BUILT ON in W8, e.g. permitting searches on more than a single search token.

  21. Windows 8 SUCKS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  22. F**kin Microsoft, you guys messed up Windows 8 bad!!

  23. the search engine of window 8 is so much more powerful. Your argument have totally no sense. When you know how to use a tool, it become really powerful. I've been able to find programs, files or access my daily programs way much faster then the previous versions.

  24. just to add website: pokki.com

  25. I installed famous pokki ( free software ) for win8 and with this program you get win8 start menu and win8 start button, default pokki start button is ugly, but it can be changed in settings so you get beautiful windows 8 logo start button and so much more like free apps and control panel and shut down option.

  26. i hate windows 8 its to much simple and to little graphics

  27. Tx AlOt BRooo!! It REaLLy WORKS !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  28. what about right to left menu ?

  29. Thank you for all your great videos. Two other great programmes for navigating to different applications, URLs, files, etc are True Launch Bar and Find and Run Robot. I have just upgraded to Windows 8 and both of these are still working fine.

  30. If anyone needs activation windows 8 views my channel 😉

  31. @sagarelas – type "device manager" after hitting the windows key. win 8 won't find anything, win 7 will find exactly what you need

  32. it worksssssssssssssss thank u very much .. NICE JOB 🙂

  33. I didn't realized that! I was looking for a field in which to type in text, but you are correct: it's possible to hit Windows key and start typing right away. Great tip! Looks like I'll have to make a new video 😉

  34. Where Win 8 really outclasses Win 7 is that the Search is multifaceted. For example, if you search for "New York", then select "Files" from the right pane, you'll see all files with that name. If you select "Weather", it'll show the weather in New York! If you select "Maps", it'll show a map of New York! If you select 'Wikipedia" it'll bring up a Wiki page on New York. If you select any browser from the right pane, you'll get a web search result for New York.

  35. Oh no! You can simply start typing in the Start Screen to search for anything you want! No need to bring up Charms or select Apps! It's exactly like in Win 7. From the Desktop – press Windows key on keyboard – then start typing. You'll get the search results immediately.
