    with your way you can only share to everyone and no password, but like you said there will never work if you choose password authenticating, which I need on because I don't want anyone to access my shared folder without a permission. And your way don't work

How to Setup network using windows explorer method but using a password on for accessing shared folder, I add a user as you mention on PC1 but when trying to access the folder on pc2 it don't give me the option to enter user name and password instead it says "Windows cannot access and no permission granted to access this folder".
    Does pc2 has to have the added user name on that folder we trying to access on pc1
