The StartScreen is a wild beast. Don’t worry it can be tamed to.
The Startmenu is a powerful tool to use, users were able to click the StartMenu button in the bottom left corner, Click all Programs, and let the tweaking and modifying begin. Users were able to right click and add new folders, Shortcuts, and move Shortcuts from one subfolder to another. On the flip side user were able to delete shortcuts and folders from the StartMenu and the changes were on the fly.

  1. hmm you can only put shortcuts in the startscreen, putting files will not work. you could crate a shortcut to the text file in the startscreen but that's about the only way to do it.

  2. I couldn't get Test to show up on the start screen file structure, I put two txt files in it, should that have worked?

  3. you can pin a file if you create a program shortcut and then edit it to point to a file.
