  1. Does anyone trust the Seagate drive inside this LaCie?

Every I.T and Creative person I know tells me stories of Seagate drives always failing no matter what the grade of the drive…

  2. Is it quiet? I record in the same space as my hard drive so I need one to be very quiet. Thanks in advance

  3. LOL overpriced !!!

  4. Interesting, the comments below do know that LaCie makes the enclosure not the hard drive itself which essentially means you have issues with Seagate not LaCie, This is a Seagate Barracuda HHD Pro drive

  5. I think your enclosure must be limiting the write speed on that samsung ssd. Mine goes way faster.

  6. I ordered this disk in 6 TB for about the same reasons as presented in this video. For 265 euro's, a lot of high quality storage with a very nice form factor. It'll look good next to my late 2018 Mac mini. I hope that the high transfer speeds of thunderbolt 3 allow me to work straight from and to the disk. I trust I need not back ups because of the 5 yr recovery service. Maybe in 5 yrs I should replace this disk. In various reviews from other buyers I read the disk is extremely silent. That's a big plus. Hopefully the power block is as well. Nice first review of this disk on YouTube.

  7. I had terrible experiences with LaCie drives and haven't used one in years. I wouldn't risk using this one.

  8. No more products from lacie for me. Bought some external thunderbolt 2 HDD 3 years ago, and it's never worked correctly with my iMac.

  9. My past experience with LaCie has been mixed, centering on low quality power supply bricks included with their drives. I love the design, and it's obvious that's what you're paying for by choosing LaCie, but all that goodness is tarnished when they choose the cheapest Made In China power brick they can find. For that reason I've not chosen LaCie externals in a couple years, so I of course am open to hearing the experiences of others how have purchased newer LaCie drives, wanting to know about the quality of the power supply brick. And while it is sometimes a simple matter of just buying another brick separately, the 10TB drive mentioned in Dan's video is $400 on Amazon, which makes the buyer expect a high quality product overall, including its power source. Thanks.

  10. I’m waiting for a 10TB thumb drive 😉 that has to be something the next 5 years

  11. For literally the exact same price, I have a RAID 5 4x5TB storage system (15TB in total!). This is way overpriced! You can get 1.5x the storage, much faster speeds, & full redundancy for that price!

  12. How's the noise level of this thing?

  13. How's 10TB any useful? It's like 13 hr 4K ProRes HQ.

  14. What if it fails? Where is backup or redundancy? Lol

  15. Who needs 10tb but no redundancy? Just curious
