Windows Fundamentals for Legacy PCs Install Tutorial

Thanks to Brian Tylo for the suggestion!
Today, we will be taking a look at Windows Fundamentals for Legacy PCs, or for short, Windows FLP. This version of Windows was based off of Windows XP and was designed for computers with lower specs. This was primarily used in the business environment for fleets of older machines that would be very costly to upgrade. It was seen as a much lower cost option for these types of businesses.

  1. Wrong about the icons bro… It's not the resolution, but the bit-depth. They look crappy, because only full color and low color icons are included. Not the ones between… To save space and other resources…

  2. I think we got it after the first 5 times that you won't put the product key up, other than that really enjoyed the video. I'm assuming that was a editing error of some kind.

  3. I got the bluescreen after the VM restart, after copying the OS, even if it won't let me change the VHD to IDE. Please help me here someone…

    The error
    STOP: 0x0000007B (0xFC8D2528, 0xC0000034, 0x00000000, 0x00000000)

    What I'm using
VMware workstation 12 Player non- commercial
Windows 10 Home Insider Preview x64
Acer Aspire AX3400G desktop with AMD Athlon II X2 255, 4GB RAM, and GeForce 9200 Integrated graphics

I know it's not a problem with VMware because all the other Windows VHD's I have install fine and work perfectly fine with it and they don't bluescreen. They are all using SCSI in the format of vmdk

I hope this helps someone here to solve my issues

  11. The most likely reason that the First Boot Agent takes so long is because it is likely that many OS files on the installation CD were zipped/compressed in order to save space on the CD, and the First Boot Agent unzipped those files so they could be used.
